Hi, and welcome! I'm Juli, a clinician who has been working in mental healthcare for eight years. I have a MSW (Master’s of Social Work) from Loyola University Chicago. I'm in this field because I truly believe that we all have the ability to break patterns, confront the things which are hurting us, and to live our lives with more grace, happiness, and ease.
I have experience treating a wide variety of issues including life transitions, mood disorders (Bipolar I and II, Depression, Schizoaffective disorder, etc.), trauma disorders (PTSD, BPD, and complex trauma), anxiety disorders (GAD, etc.), and other conditions. I also believe that diagnosis is a part of the story, not the sum total of your experience. Our time together will be focused on you and your needs, not a one-size-fits-all approach. Each person is trying their best with the tools that they have, and every person deserves to live a life closer to the one that they want.
I like to work together to identity both root causes of the things that you are experiencing, and ways to either alter or cope with those challenges. We’ll focus on stabilizing your situation, then shift into long-term strategies for improving your baseline mental health. Insight into our own thoughts and behaviors can help us shift the ones that aren’t serving us—or, in some cases, help us to coexist with them safely.
I believe that the therapeutic relationship is built on trust, and I have been honored to have the trust of the people I work with and to see the impact of their progress on their lives and the lives of all those around them. I’ll be direct with you, but I’ll also be your biggest cheerleader.
I am also committed to racial, social, and economic justice. I have been lucky enough to work in food pantries, in mitigation services for those convicted of crimes, and in services for those experiencing homelessness. I'm also a proud lesbian happy to serve my community. If oppression is part of your story, I will hold space for you and we will work on what we can control and how to mitigate harm.
I currently offer treatment within the state of Illinois.
